my dad -- elderly 77 -- had a CT scan w/ contrast done yeserday. he is not taking his metformin -- starts it again on sunday. his blood sugar/glucose numbers sometime fluctuate up, but his A1c is ok, so the doc hasn't adjusted meds.
anyway ----- when i spoke to him this afternoon he told me his BS number was almost 300. i understand he can't take the metformin because of the contrast, but how high is to high for the number to go --- he lives alone and it just makes me worry.
he didn't have the healthiest lunch - so i'm wondering if that is what spiked it ---
shouldn't he have enough of the metformin in his system to last the few days he isn't taking it?
sigh -- maybe i just worry to much.
